Dr. Sibylle Scholtz is a biologist and chemist with a doctorate in medicine. She is an Associated Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Experimental Ophthalmology at Saarland University in Germany. Dr. Scholtz has extensive experience with ophthalmic medical devices and is internationally recognized for her contributions to ophthalmology, biometry and optics. She actively supports the IOLCon database www.iolcon.org, a global interactive plattform for intraocular lens (IOL) properies and constants that assists ophthalmic surgeons in lens calculation. In addition, Dr. Scholtz is known for her work in the field of medical history and has authored several publications on this topic (including here: www.rufverlag.de).
Dr. Scholtz has also made a significant contribution to charitable and medical initiatives through her work with the Lions Club, most notably by transforming the Heidelberg University Eye Hospital's
cornea bank into a Lions Cornea Bank, increasing its capacity for corneal transplants.
